Thomas G. P. Ball

TGPB is a graduating Illustrator from Sheffield Hallam University. A lover of creating illustration based on stories rich in history, like his current work with lesser known Greek Myths. Thomas uses digital brushes created from lino and screen print textures to give his digital illustration the screen/lino aesthetic he came to adore whilst on a lucky work placement on the Harry Potter film series. As well as creating digital and print illustration, Thomas is a resident Live Artist, creating work at places all around Sheffield alone or as a part of Sheffield Illustration collective, ‘The Stars In Stripes’. Having painted murals at The Wick at Both Ends, The Harley and The Northern General Hospital’s Metabollic Bone Centre and a Solo mural at Kuji Shop (with t-shirts by Thomas also available there) The Stars in Stripes are leading force on the Sheffield Illustration scene (putting on their first ever exhibition in Rotherham this January), and will be performing at numerous places at Tramlines Festival this year.

In July 2011, Thomas was shortlisted and attained a Highly Commended award in the ‘UNLEASHED: Best In The North’ Illustration competition with the Stag image scene, which can be viewed in the picture gallery above.
